So far in my opinion the cg33 is the simpilist most powerful
handheld coilgun currently out there.But lets get down to whats inside first of all he has it running of of a modifyed rc car battery With 2 amp hours which powers a 555 timer which pulses the signal to a 5 amp MOSFET which drives a flyback transformer from a CRT monitor
Then oncE transformed by the flyback transformer to 300 volts the pulses are removed by a large rectifier which then sends the power to the capacitors this is where the 500 volt meter is attached to, to show the voltage of the capacitors. Then a 80 amp solid state relay is triggered by a rocker switch dumping the enegry into a 10 awg coil which draws the steel rod to it losing all the energy as the steel rod reaches the center of he coil then releases the steel rod to keep going. although this may seem complex to the beginner this is relativly simple considering its one stage
